On Friday, August 21, 2026, Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad, accompanied by Michael Forian, city councilor for Sector M, and members of the city council, officially opened the completely renovated Maupassant Park. Located at the intersection of Malo and Maupassant Avenues, this 2,377-square-meter neighborhood park underwent a complete renovation to modernize its facilities and provide accessible and inclusive amenities.
“I am very pleased to inaugurate the renovated Maupassant Park. This project demonstrates our commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents by creating public spaces that are accessible, welcoming, and tailored to the needs of families,” said Doreen Assaad, mayor of Brossard.
Amenities Designed to Enhance Neighborhood Life
Designed around the theme of astronomy, the park features play areas divided into two age groups: 18 months to 5 years and 5 to 12 years. A rest area and a sun shelter round out the facilities.
The park furniture has been replaced, and a drinking fountain and a streetlight have been added. New trees, shrubs, and perennials, as well as distinctive landscaping features, round out the redesign.
A Festive Community Celebration
At the opening ceremony, residents were invited to explore the park in a festive atmosphere, featuring various entertainment and activities.
