The Grande marche de Brossard, encouraged by the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie and prescribed by family doctors, is back across the province for its 8th edition. Brossard will be pleased to participate on October 15.
Brossard program on October 15
La Grande marche will start at 6 p.m., at the corner of Boulevard du Quartier and Boulevard Lapinière, on the Grand Parc urbain route. Walkers are invited to don their best disguises and explore a Halloween-inspired 3 km route. Departures for this free event, open to all, will run continuously until 8:30 pm. There will be entertainment along the way, and door prizes will also be awarded. Parking will be available at 4805, 4905 and 5005 boulevard Lapinière.
Organized in collaboration with the Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec (FMOQ) and with the participation of Rio Tinto and the Quebec government, La Grande marche attracted 134,574 walkers across Quebec last year, according to registrations entered on the onmarche.com website. Once again this year, walkers are invited to register on the same site for a chance to win one of 50 Great Walker coats, and to take advantage of various features – including photo sharing and viewing of training videos.
The Grande marche is the fruit of a vast collective effort,” says Pierre Lavoie, “and that’s what makes this event so special. Hats off to all the municipalities that put their hands up to get their fellow citizens moving and organize a great party! And I’d like to thank the members of the FMOQ, who are in a better position than anyone to remind people of the importance of physical activity to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Many thanks to all participants.
