A gift of hope

Ville de Brossard is proud to host a Generations Chair at City Hall, a symbol of influence and support for future generations on environmental and climate issues. The unveiling of the collective work took place at a convivial ceremony just before the opening of the May 26 municipal council meeting, in the presence of council members and project participants.

The result of a joint initiative by Mère au front Marie-France Racine-Gagné and the Maison de la famille de Brossard, the Chaise des générations was created by5th and 6th graders at École Sainte-Claire. This approach is part of a project that offers hope for the future. It’s a reminder of the importance of thinking about young people in the choices that shape our community.

Mayor Doreen Assaad, front center, surrounded by grade5 and 6 students from École Sainte-Claire who participated in the project, and accompanied by members of the municipal council, project initiator Marie-France Racine-Gagné, and Anny Sandoval from Maison de la famille de Brossard.

“The Generations Chair symbolizes the voice of today’s and tomorrow’s youth. It reminds us that every decision has an impact on future generations. It embodies the city’s commitment to taking responsible, sustainable and inclusive action to build a city that looks to the future. It is by placing young people at the heart of our decisions that we will collectively succeed,” declared Mayor Doreen Assaad.

Mothers to the Front is a citizens’ movement bringing together women allied to demand concrete action to protect the environment and guarantee a better future for children.
