“The inauguration of this multigenerational center marks a milestone for Brossard. We wanted to create a space that reflects our values of community, inclusion and innovation. I’m very proud to be able to offer our citizens a place that will foster encounters between generations and help build the Brossard of tomorrow,” declared Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.
A center for all generations
The new Centre multigénérationnel is designed to host a variety of activities to meet the needs of all age groups. Citizens will enjoy a multi-purpose gymnasium, dance halls, painting and exhibition spaces, as well as areas dedicated to play and relaxation. Outdoors, interpretation trails invite discovery, while sports fields encourage physical activity, from pickleball to basketball to pétanque.
A modern, sustainable building
Committed to sustainable development, the city has designed a building that is 25% more efficient than current building code requirements. Its features include an intelligent lighting system, energy recovery for preheating fresh air, multiple heat pumps, a white roof to limit heat gain, and a pale paving stone parking area to reduce heat islands.
Free shuttle service
To facilitate access to the site, a free shuttle service will link the Chevrier parking lot to the centre multigénérationnel throughout the day.
