From vision to action
Ville de Brossard is taking a new step towards realizing its vision of exemplary governance, rigorous financial management and responsible, sustainable development. Following its December 9 meeting, the municipal council adopted new measures to improve decision-making efficiency and citizen service.
Modernized governance and greater efficiency
The mayor announces the creation of an executive committee, the introduction of the position of chairman of the board to preside over meetings, in accordance with the Ville de Brossard’s by-law on internal management, and the adoption of a newcommittee structure covering all city departments to inform recommendations on orientations, policies and regulations. The aim of these measures is to enable faster decision-making, clearer debates and a genuine symbiosis between political and administrative action, in the public interest.
Responsible leadership
In the same exemplary spirit, the mayor will abolish her office as of January 2026; two employees will be integrated into the municipal administration under the direction of the General Management. What’s more, the organizational structure has been modified to accommodate all these measures.
Increased citizen participation
The mayor mandates the general manager to propose an innovative approach to integrating the citizen’s voice into municipal decision-making.
Financial management: discipline and predictability
The city confirms its commitment to keeping tax increases below the rate of inflation, and to stabilizing debt servicing in relation to revenues. The Mayor invites the public to read the 2026 budget on December 15 at 6:30 p.m., at a special Council meeting.
Sustainable development
To orchestrate Brossard’s growth, the city council created the Direction des affaires stratégiques et du développement, responsible for planning coherent development, encouraging neighborhoods on a human scale, adapting infrastructures and protecting green spaces while ensuring fluid and safe mobility.
“We’re not building for the next season, we’re building for the next generation. Every development project must contribute to Brossard’s collective wealth, both economically and socially,” asserts Mayor Doreen Assaad.
