A free event for young people on May 20 at the skate park
Ville de Brossard invites young people to celebrate the start of the summer skateboarding season at Ça roule à planche!a free, rallying event to be held on Wednesday, May 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the skateboard park on boulevard de Rome, near the Complexe aquatique. 🛹
Designed especially for teenagers aged 12 to 17, the activity offers a dynamic program combining sport, music and meetings with youth organizations, in a friendly and safe atmosphere.
Throughout the evening, participants can enjoy free practice, musical entertainment, booths from local organizations, as well as free equipment loans and professional advice from Spin Skatepark. Skill contests, numerous door prizes totaling $1,500 and a street truck ($) will round out the experience.
Mike Clay show at 6:30 p.m.
Hosted by Gino Oray, the event will culminate in a performance by Mike Clay, leader of the group Clay and Friends, who will take to the stage at 6:30 p.m. for a musical moment eagerly awaited by youngsters and families alike.
“With Ça roule à planche! we want to offer young people an event that reflects their image: dynamic, accessible and unifying. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase a popular spot for skateboarders, while encouraging the practice of sports, positive encounters and the harmonious sharing of our public spaces,” emphasizes Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
Beyond its festive character, the event will also serve as a positive reminder of certain good safety practices and civic-mindedness at the skate park, notably the importance of wearing protective equipment and showing respect between users.
