Brossard launches a survey on citizen participation

06 June 2022 Last update 17/05/2025

The Ville de Brossard is taking the next step towards its first citizen participation policy.

The Ville de Brossard is taking the next step towards its first citizen participation policy. Starting today, and for the whole month of June, the City is inviting Brossard residents to fill in a short questionnaire to share what citizen participation means to them. Responses from citizens will be used to :

  • find out what people want to be consulted on;
  • the level of importance it attaches to consulting activities;
  • determine the best consultation methods.

The survey is open to participation at all times . A $50 gift card redeemable at any Brossard business will be drawn from all those who complete the survey.

Towards a first citizen participation policy

The Ville de Brossard had begun the process of adopting a citizen participation policy in 2019, before being interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brossard relaunched the project in May 2022 with the aim of developing a citizen participation policy that aims to:

  • encourage citizens to take part in the city’s decision-making process;
  • promote dialogue between the city and its residents;
  • provide a framework for the nature of the projects proposed by the city.

The city will be offering a range of activities to gather a variety of viewpoints from citizens, city employees and elected officials. The information gathered will enable Brossard to establish the foundations of its public participation policy, so that it reflects and meets the expectations of all Brossard residents.
