Despite the current situation, summer is not cancelled in Brossard. In keeping with current government regulations and the health rules issued by the Direction de la santé publique, the City has put together a program that will have all citizens saying “J’ai Le Cœur à l’été!
Rediscover your city
This summer, Brossard residents are invited to get out of the house and explore the region to take advantage of its many attractions. With the gradual reopening of our sports and recreational facilities, it’s time to take full advantage of the warm weather here in Brossard. Summer is all about having fun, getting moving, taking the plunge and discovering new things!
“I’m delighted to know that young and old alike will be able to have fun this summer in Brossard. There really is something for everyone. Despite the particular context in which we find ourselves, it’s important to be able to have fun and get away from it all, in complete safety; and that’s exactly what we’re offering the people of Brossard,” explains Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.
Brossard has fun!
For those looking for summer fun, Brossard has come up with a number of surprise events. But how do you find them? Interested parties can search for clues on the town’s Facebook page. Brossard takes the plunge
Starting June 25, the public will be able to visit one of Brossard’s six outdoor pools. It’s worth noting that measures, such as reducing reception capacity, have been put in place to make it easier to maintain physical distance. To this end, certain time slots, normally busier, will be accessible by reservation, for residents only. Reservations of 50 minutes must be made the same day or the day before swimming on the city’s website at aquatic.
Water games are also available daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the following seven parks: Aumont, Castello, Charpentier-Chevrier, James-Darby, Lunan, Trahan and Vanier. Consult the interactive map to find out where they are located.
Brossard discovers
All are invited to discover the exhibition Brossard au quotidien. Featuring large-format photographs, it will be on display from early July to late September, along selected multi-use trails. Whether captured on the spot or in a more elaborate setting, each image bears witness to the richness and diversity of our exceptional living environment.
Over the past few weeks, library staff have been hard at work on the new contactless loan service. To make a reservation, simply log in to your subscriber file with your username and password to consult the library catalog and reserve the desired documents. A library employee will contact the subscriber within a few days to arrange a pick-up appointment and provide specific pick-up instructions. Reservations can also be made by telephone, leaving your contact details at 450 923-6304, ext. 6276.
It’s always possible to reserve a surprise selection of five thematic documents chosen by library staff, or to access digital resources such as books, magazines, reports, music and videos, language, computer or self-improvement courses, genealogy and much more.
Younger children won’t be left out either, as this summer’s book club for ages 3 to 12 will take place on the Web. You can register now by visiting clubdelecturetd.ca. Creating a virtual reading log, book duels, weekly quizzes and discoverable video vignettes are just some of the activities on offer.
Brossard gets busy
Everyone is invited to get out balls, bats, rackets, bikes and skateboards, as tennis, pickleball, shuffleball, bocce, basketball, baseball and soccer courts and facilities are available. Access to bike paths, multi-purpose trails, exercise circuits and playgrounds is still permitted, and the skateboard park is officially open. For those who prefer to take it easy, you can always enjoy a picnic or a stroll in one of the city’s parks.
