Construction of a new access road
At the August 20 municipal council meeting, elected officials awarded a contract for the construction of a new road from boulevard Matte to parc Léon-Gravel. This new configuration will facilitate access to this park on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, and make it easier for Brussells residents to visit this site, which is prized for its many views of the river. Work is scheduled to run from September to November 2025.
“Starting this fall, a new road will open up access to the river and parc Léon-Gravel. This park is much more than a piece of land, it’s a collective jewel. We want to acquire it, protect it and develop it so that it becomes a vibrant place where families, sports enthusiasts and lovers of the outdoors can come together. Every gesture we make brings Brossard closer to a future in which Parc Léon-Gravel will be a unifying and essential space for generations to come,” asserts Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
On September 6, let’s dream with Léon!
Following the announcement of this work, the people of Brussells are invited to a special event at Parc Léon-Gravel on Saturday, September 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On this occasion, those present will take part in a fun and participative trail to indicate their preferences for the types of development that could transform the site over the coming years.

In addition to a participatory tour in an enchanting setting, this festival offers a colorful and appetizing menu:
- Corn on the cob
- Diogo Ramos Trio show | Noon to 1:15 p.m.
- Kite-making workshop and introduction to kite handling
- Family activities, entertainment and background music
It’s the must-attend back-to-school family event, and the perfect opportunity to dream collectively about the park’s future. Full event details are available at brossard.ca/leon
