HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN UKRAINE

Brossard and its citizens donate $31,636 for Ukraine

Brossard, May 2, 2022 – The fundraising campaign for the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Relief Fund launched by the Ville de Brossard on March 23 and which ended on April 30, raised $15,818 from citizens through the Canadian Red Cross website. As promised, the City has doubled the contributions received, and will donate a total of $31,636 to the Red Cross.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who responded to the appeal and contributed to this Red Cross relief fund to help the Ukrainian people. I’m well aware of the generosity of the people of Brossard, and they’ve demonstrated it once again,” said Mayor Doreen Assaad.

Red Cross teams on the ground in Ukraine and neighboring countries continue to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected. At border crossings and in major cities, this invaluable support includes food, water, clothing and hygiene kits, first aid training, medical supplies and 24-hour healthcare, including psychosocial support.

You can still make a donation to help humanitarian efforts by going directly to the Red Cross website: www.croixrouge.ca.
