The city is proud to present its online art collection to the public. The La Collection project showcases some sixty works representing a wide range of artistic expression. Constantly evolving, this web exhibition lets you learn more about our artistic heritage. The Collection is now available at brossard.ca/lacollection.

“The municipal council is delighted to see that the city’s art collection is now accessible to all. After months of work, we are pleased to unveil to Brossard residents, art lovers and neophytes in the region, the online collection representing a wealth and diversity of artistic currents in Quebec”, said Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.

The collection: constantly evolving

Created in 2007, the art collection is constantly evolving, with new works added every year in accordance with the acquisition policy of the Corporation des biens culturels de la Ville de Brossard. The mission of this non-profit organization is to enrich the municipal collection with a view to recognizing and supporting the visual arts.

The development of the collection is guided by two principles. The first gives pride of place to artists from the artistic movements that have influenced modern art in Quebec, mainly from 1950 to the present day.

The second section showcases works by professional artists who have exhibited in Brossard at municipal visual arts venues: the Centre Socioculturel Alphonse Lepage (Salon des arts visuels and Galerie-Renée Blain), the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage (Espace Mur-mur des arts) and City Hall (Hall des Arts).
