An international light installation in the heart of Brossard
The City of Brossard is proud to welcome Prismatica, an internationally renowned immersive art installation by RAW Design, in collaboration with the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles. A rare opportunity on Montreal’s South Shore, the City invites the people of Brussells to discover this work of art. Quartier des spectacles, from October 16 to November 10, at the Grand Parc urbain.
“Brossard has once again set itself apart by offering its residents and the entire region an innovative and accessible artistic experience, which bears witness to our ambition to make our city a place for encounters, discoveries and collective pride,” emphasizes Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
Deployed in over 50 cities and 5 countries, Prismatica is an interactive work born of collaboration between professionals from the fields of architecture, technology and applied science. It is made up of 25 rotating prisms incorporating chimes of varying tones. Their surfaces are covered with dichroic filters – a material that reflects light differently depending on the viewing angle – creating an ever-changing spectacle of colors and reflections.
“We were inspired by the idea of the kaleidoscope, which allows the public to manipulate light, color and transparency,” explains RAW Design architect Pierre-Alexandre Le Lay.
A unique experience, just in time for La Grande marche
On the occasion of La Grande marche on October 18, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand parc urbain, walkers dressed in Halloween costumes will be invited to discover Prismatica in a magical atmosphere where art, light and festivities meet.
Visitors of all ages will be able to :
- rotate the 25 prisms to orchestrate a ballet of light and color;
- hear a series of harmonious melodies;
- marvel at the vibrant hues and changing patterns.
