2nd boil water advisory in 2021 | Brossard commits to finding solutions

12 September 2021 Last update 17/05/2025

Brossard is now undertaking a comprehensive review to minimize the frequency of boil water advisories.

Following a boil water advisory issued on September 11, the City of Brossard is now undertaking an exhaustive review to minimize the frequency of these events and ensure continued access to quality water for all citizens.

The city intends to explore all the causes that could have an impact on its drinking water, both in terms of water quality control and failures that could affect the water supply system. One of the most common causes of boil notices is contamination during sampling. Meetings are planned with the supplier and city teams to identify sustainable solutions to improve our sampling program.

“A boil-water advisory is an exceptional measure that should not occur as frequently as it does in Brossard. I have therefore mandated the city’s general management to conduct an in-depth investigation in order to find a lasting solution that will put an end to this problem throughout our territory”, stated Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.

This was the second boil advisory to hit Brossard this year, the last being on July 9.
