The Brossard Georgette-Lepage Library is offering several types of activities for young and old during this special week.
The 25th edition of Quebec Public Library Week, which runs from October 14 to 21 under the theme You’ve changed. Your libraries too!is designed to highlight the evolving social role of public libraries in their communities. To mark the occasion, the Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library is offering activities for all ages and tastes.
Evolution of the Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library
The avant-garde and visionary Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library has renewed itself over the years, offering a variety of innovative activities and services for all types of clientele, such as its Histoire au bout du fil program, STEM activities, francization visits and board game collection; as well as redeveloping its youth sector and adding new facilities, such as Espace SODA (for 12 to 17 year-olds), Fab Lab (digital fabrication laboratory), Espace PLUS (for caregivers and visually impaired users) and Espace Bouvry (insects and butterflies from around the world).
There’s also a wide range of digital resources for reading books and magazines, as well as for research, learning and relaxation. It is part of the Quebec public library network that offers answeratout.ca, a virtual reference service, and shares the historical heritage of the City of Brossard through its Brossardana en images platform.
“During Public Library Week, I’d like to highlight the excellence of the Brossard Georgette-Lepage library, which offers a wide range of activities and services for toddlers and older children alike, ensuring that citizens enjoy using it on a regular basis,” says Mayor Doreen Assaad.
