Leisure and sports 13 September 2025 Last update 15/09/2025

The organizing committee of the UCI Montreal 2026 Road World Championships, to be held from September 20 to 27, 2026, today unveiled the route of the prestigious Elite Men’s and Women’s road races. This announcement comes at a time when the eyes of the cycling world are riveted on Quebec, for the Grands Prix Cyclistes de Québec and Montreal, the only UCI WorldTour events in North America.

Montreal and the Montérégie region are preparing to offer the world an unforgettable sporting spectacle, where the excellence of the athletes will meet the beauty of the landscape and the passion of the local communities. The UCI Montreal 2026 Road World Championships are shaping up to be a moment in history, with Quebec and Canada vibrating in unison with millions of cycling enthusiasts around the world.

The route of the road races will highlight Montreal and eight Montérégie municipalities: Brossard, Carignan, Chambly, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Richelieu, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu.

After a start in Brossard, the peloton will set off through vibrant towns and landscapes with a strong sense of identity. Between rivers and mountains, farmlands and urban cores, this tour immerses you in the rich heritage, culture and nature of the Montérégie region. Spectators will be able to admire a land where nature and vitality meet, a symbol of Quebec’s diversity.

The peloton will then cross the Samuel De Champlain Bridge, flying over the majestic St. Lawrence River through a world-class corridor, recognized as the iconic gateway to Montreal.

Finally, the riders will join the formidable Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal circuit, which will put their strength and endurance to the test. All events will crown their champions on the legendary Avenue du Parc, at the foot of Mount Royal, a natural amphitheatre and the beating heart of the event.

As tradition dictates, the technical and sporting features of the course will be unveiled at the 2025 UCI Road World Championships to be held in Kigali at the end of September, along with all 13 events (time trial and road race).
