Ville de Brossard wins the Grand Prix du Public at the 17th edition of the Grands Prix du Design.
The City of Brossard is proud to announce that its project to redevelop Boulevard Saint-Laurent and Place Saint-Charles was awarded the Grand Prix du Public at the 17th edition of the Grands Prix du Design on November 6.
This project is the fruit of an exceptional participatory approach, through which we have designed a layout that reflects the will of the people, while respecting budgetary and local realities.
The concept, developed in collaboration with AECOM, had already won Silver Certification in the Landscape Concept and Municipal Development Project categories.
“It’s a tremendous honour for the City of Brossard to receive the Grand Prix du Public. Any distinction is nice to receive, but when this one is the result of votes from citizens, especially for a project in which it was important for us to involve them, it’s all the more gratifying! I’d like to thank and congratulate our employees who worked so hard on the project to redevelop Boulevard Saint-Laurent and Place Saint-Charles. I would also like to extend a very special thank you to the people of Brossard who took the time to vote in order to help us receive this recognition,” declared Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.
A sustainable and innovative project
The redevelopment of boulevard Saint-Laurent and place Saint-Charles is designed to create more green spaces, more efficient mobility and greater safety for all users. It also aims to improve access to the St. Lawrence River by adding a green promenade along the riverbanks.
