Sequence 1
Excavation and installation of a concrete pad and access shafts in the park for Hydro-Québec and Bell Canada’s urban technical networks.
The Poly-Aréna park bike path will not be accessible during the work.

Sequence 2
Construction of a new bike path on rue Niagara and a new entrance to the park parking lot.
Work on the new entrance to the car park has been moved to sequence 3.

Sequence 3
Development of new pickleball and tennis courts and surrounding green spaces.
Status : In progress

Sequence 4
Rehabilitation of infrastructure and parking behind Michel-Normandin arena, as well as along the tennis courts resurfaced last summer (phase 1A).

Phase 1A

Project summary

• Complete renovation of tennis courts (6), including lighting and fencing
• Creation of a vegetated retention basin
• Adding street furniture
• Diversified planting

The municipal council awarded a contract to Gestion Dexsen inc. to carry out work on phase 1A of the redevelopment of Poly-aréna park, following a public call for tenders that closed on July 13, 2023.

The first phase of this major project will begin in early October 2023, kicking off the implementation of the Functional and Technical Plan (FTP) developed to complement the Master Plan for Public and Recreational Facilities.

This phase of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2024.

The work represents an investment of $1.6 million, some 20% below the initial estimate.

In the press release of August 24, 2023 announcing this first phase of development, Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard, declared: “Parc Poly-aréna is the city’s most important sports hub. Dedicated to the practice of various activities on a variety of outdoor platforms, it is also a prime gathering place for festive events. Our ambition is to adapt to the needs of the population by placing them at the heart of our town’s development. The council and I are extremely proud of the major projects underway throughout our territory. We’re building the Brossard of tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see our city grow and change.
