Grande Allée (phase 2)

Work on Grande-Allée

In the spring of 2026, the cities of Longueuil and Brossard will begin work on the rehabilitation of Grande-Allée, between avenue Baudelaire and avenue Alma, to modernize municipal infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life.

This is the second phase of work on Grande-Allée. The first phase was carried out in 2019 to widen Grande-Allée, between rue Jonergin and the Autoroute 30 viaduct.

The work in brief

  • Bus-only lanes in each direction.
  • Addition of one-way off-street cycle lanes in each direction.
  • Secure bicycle crossing at rue Perlini intersection.
  • Addition of traffic lights.
  • Replacement of drinking water pipes and valves under the street.
  • Repair and/or replacement of sewer pipes, if required.
  • Reconstruction of roadway and foundation, sidewalks, existing traffic lights, lighting and median strip.
  • Public utility work, i.e. the burying of some overhead crossings and the relocation of a few poles.
  • Greening of the axis and addition of street furniture.

Investment (estimate)

A major investment of $42 million by the Ville de Longueuil and the Ville de Brossard in active mobility and urban infrastructure.
