Future obstacles
The Brossard Sun Life Half Marathon will result in temporary street and bike path closures, as well as parking restrictions. Obstructions are to be expected throughout the event.
Despite these impediments, citizens maintained access to their homes during the event. The Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL) will ensure the safe sharing of the road between residents and runners.
Boulevard de Rome – the south side (between Place Soulanges and the Hôtel de Ville entrance) is closed.
- Two-way traffic permitted via a counterflow on the opposite side;
- Closure of access to intersections Rome and boulevard Pelletier, avenue San Francisco, rues Saguenay, Sartre, Trépanier and Trahan (controlled by SPAL).
Intersections Boul. Marie-Victorin/ de Rome et Matte
- Partial closure of intersections from boulevard Marie-Victorin to boulevard de Rome and boulevard Matte; access will be controlled by SPAL, which will allow vehicles to pass between waves of runners.
Boulevard Pelletier
- Complete closure of boulevard Pelletier between boulevard de Rome and avenue Saguenay, northbound; SPAL will provide local traffic control.
- From avenue Saguenay to Av. Sorbonne (closed – local traffic on one lane only)

Bike paths to avoid:
We strongly advise users to avoid the following cycle paths. Cyclists and users will be warned to get off their bikes by volunteers or SPAL.
- Bike path on Rome, south side, between Hôtel de Ville and Pelletier
- Bike path on Rome, north side, between Trahan and Marie-Victorin
- Bike path between Parc St-Laurent and Parc des vélos
- Bicycle path between Parc St-Laurent and Parc Radisson
- Route verte (bicycle path) between Rome and Matte
- The bicycle path from the Samuel-de-Champlain bridge will be closed
No parking
To ensure the safety of riders, spectators, cyclists and motorists, certain streets and bike paths will be temporarily closed, mainly in sectors R, S and T. Parking bans will also be in effect on some streets.
Watch out for temporary signage in your area from August 22. The parking ban will be in effect wherever temporary “no parking” signs are posted.
