Botanical Drawings features a collection of realistic floral works created with colored pencils and watercolor by Brossard-based artist Evgenia Tumik With their meticulous details and rich colors, these creations invite us to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the beauty of life.
The title of the exhibition, Botanical Threads, refers to the invisible ties that bind the works together. Although each flower comes from a different place and has its own story, they are united by the artist’s sensitive eye, her observational approach, and her fascination with the richness and complexity of the botanical world.
From the Stem to the Tiny Stamens, Evgenia Tumik It accurately captures every delicate fold of a petal and every hollow revealed by the light. It brings to light the colors hidden at the heart of a flower: a rose is a landscape of burgundy, purple, green, and golden yellow just waiting to be explored.

A self-taught artist based in Brossard, Evgenia Tumik is fascinated by the extraordinary diversity of the plant world. She photographs the flowers she discovers at the Montréal Botanical Garden and in the gardens of Brossard, before meticulously reproducing them on paper. She also draws inspiration from her travels, particularly in the Baltic region, where she was struck by the striking brilliance of neon-pink peonies and the depth of majestic burgundy irises.
The artist captures every detail of a flower using colored pencils—which offer precision, depth, and luminous layers—and watercolor—which brings softness, transparency, and a more intuitive quality that echoes the delicacy of the flowers.
