VR Les pieds en haut: Lou | Dance hall

Martine Asselin and Annick Daigneault

Location: Centre socioculturel Alphonse-Lepage – Dance hall

Lou is a fictional character created from the testimonies of autistic people and inspired by the two directors’ own autistic children. You’ll witness a few days in the life of this charming and vulnerable person, from her 5th birthday to her first day of high school. Lou does what he can to adapt to the neurotypical world.

In this playful, metaphorical virtual reality experience, you’ll experience the world through Lou’s eyes. Through their specific perceptions and interests, you’ll experience fascination, sensory overload and autistic collapse. You’ll need to use unique coping mechanisms, as many autistic people do.

It’s also about inclusive production. A number of people with autism were involved in every stage of the project.

Available in French, this work promotes empathy and a better understanding of this distinct neurological reality.
