Classical music show
Trio Iberia is dedicated to Spanish classical music. Formed by Johanne Morin on violin, Julie Trudeau on cello and Michel Beauchamp on 7-string classical guitar. These seasoned musicians have a wealth of experience in the field of chamber music.
The trio’s repertoire is made up of Michel Beauchamp’s re-instrumentations of orchestral and piano works by Spain’s greatest composers: Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo.
Spain boasts a musical tradition blended by the cohabitation of several peoples on its territory. Think of the eight centuries of Arab presence, the Sephardic Jews and the gypsies from the East who sowed their traditions, ways of life and music in the soil of the Iberian Peninsula. The flamenco resulting from this crossbreeding is then reflected in Spanish classical music. Oriental accents color this music, making it one of the most exotic in the world.
