Genealogy is a rapidly growing hobby thanks to digital tools, but it goes far beyond simply creating a family tree. It is both an art and a science that allows people to trace the history of their ancestors. The presentation, led by Jean-Luc Laliberté, a genealogy enthusiast and recipient of the Medal of Recognition from the Fédération québécoise des sociétés de généalogie, will explain the different types of genealogy, suggest a research method, present available tools and software, and highlight common mistakes to avoid.
