For three millennia, Greek gods and heroes have shaped our imagination. From Oedipus to Odysseus, from Antigone to Sisyphus, these mythical figures continue to engage with our world and inspire artists and writers, from Botticelli to Dalí, from Camus to Madeleine Miller. This lecture, presented by Guy Berthiaume, a historian and professor of ancient history, invites us to rediscover Greek mythology as a key to better understanding art, literature… and ourselves, through the iconic Olympians and the quintessential hero: Hercules.
