Biography

Antoine Assaf has been a member of Brossard City Council since 2005, renewing the confidence of the citizens of his district at every election.

Antoine Assaf is a graduate engineer from France’s grandes écoles, with a master’s degree in environmental studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He was a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec until 2012, and worked for 26 years in private enterprise, including 22 years with SNC Lavalin. He also worked for Société d’énergie de la Baie James, a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec, where he oversaw the construction of two hydroelectric power plants.

His responsibilities led him to work as a technical advisor to the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, representing CIDA. He also worked for five years in Cameroon as assistant mission manager for a World Bank project to upgrade and maintain the country’s road network.

Married with two sons, he has lived in Brossard since 1988, where he has been involved in soccer, his passion.

Retired since 2009, he devotes most of his time to meeting his fellow citizens.
