In accordance with the Act respecting land use planning and development, this committee is established by by-law.
Composition
- The committee is made up of elected members;
- Members are appointed by resolution of the Municipal Council.
Officers
- A senior employee of the urban planning department, who also acts as secretary to the committee;
- On request, internal and external resources can be invited to present files to the committee.
General mandate
- By-law concerning the demolition of buildings (REG-399);
- Carry out annual mandates assigned by the planning committee;
- The Committee’s role is to accept or refuse applications for authorization to demolish a building subject to the Building Demolition By-law;
- Establish the conditions necessary for the issuance of a certificate of authorization to demolish.
Specific mandates
- Analyze building demolition regulations and make recommendations.
Frequency of meetings
- Meetings are held as needed.
Quorum
- The quorum is set at two elected committee members.

On February 9, 2022, the demolition review committee voted to authorize the demolition of the buildings at 1665, rue Allard and 8080, boulevard Taschereau in Brossard, subject to certain conditions.
