Composition

  • The commission is made up of elected members, officers, citizens and representatives of organizations;
  • Members are appointed by resolution of the Municipal Council.
  • Five citizens, including at least one position held by a person under the age of 25, and at least one position held by a woman.

  • LCVC Deputy Director;
  • The LCVC Administration Division Manager is responsible for administrative and secretarial matters.

General mandate

  • Carry out annual mandates assigned by the planning committee;
  • Recommend revisions to the organization’s support policy;
  • Develop and recommend an integrated policy and action plan (family, seniors, children, women, inclusion and healthy living);
  • Annually review the Integrated Policy actions carried out and revise the action plan;
  • Identify the needs of families, seniors, young people and women, and propose ways to facilitate their active participation in their living environment;
  • Identify the needs of local organizations in order to support initiatives that meet the needs of the Brussells community.

Specific mandates

  • Grant program, Entente en développement culturel (EDC) 2021-22-23;
  • Revise the fee schedule in line with the new Eligibility Policy (facilities, sports, healthy lifestyles);
  • Overhaul of the Policy for the Recognition and Support of Organizations;
  • Follow the 2022-2024 Action Plan;
  • Continue to update our cultural policy.

Frequency of meetings

Meetings are held at least four times a year, or more frequently if necessary.

Quorum

The quorum is set at four members, including at least one elected member of the Municipal Council.
