Social transport comes to Brossard starting May 15 The City connects residents together to save you time and money, and to protect the environment Once again, the City of Brossard is innovating, through a pilot project that will make multimodal transportation more attractive and more accessible to residents. Cost The City will participate financially in this new approach to social transportation. For a city to make public funds directly available to residents to help improve mobility is a pioneering step forward. In concrete terms, the City will assume a portion of the costs for resident passengers who participate in the pilot project. How Will It Work? Drivers and passengers register on the Netlift platform at netlift.me (their app is a free download on smart phones). A driver and passenger each enter their travel details: origin, destination, times. The application analyzes passenger needs and proposes various solutions to get to the destination: carpooling, public transit or taxi. It may include one or more transportation options. The passenger accepts or refuses the proposed route. Passenger and driver can communicate prior to departure through Netlift text messaging. The passenger may rate the driver after the journey. It is important to note that an audit is carried out in advance to confirm the driver is a Brossard resident, that he or she has a valid licence, and that the vehicle conforms to safety rules.
